Hi

I have a  group of 3 players. A dwarf warrior, an elf priest and an elf sorcerer. The elf priest can heal and uses bow for range combat. The sorcerer uses his Ray Fire spell for range combat. But he isn't a good fighter and he must keep far from close combat.

The problem is that in his spellbook, I don't see anything really interested for helping the group. Ok, he can identify magic, but what else? They are now at level 5, and I don't see any interesting spell for him. Any suggestion to make the sorcerer more interesting than only launching rayfire?

I think Enchant Weapon, Open, Eavesdrop, Shadow, Concealing Fog, Penetrating Gaze, Dominate Undead, Eyes and Ears, Frighten, Scorching Blade, Change Race, Confusion, Guardian and Sleep are all very usefull spells.
Come to think of it, he could specialize on Reconnaisance and Secrecy in this group! You don't have a Scout, at last.

Maybe the Community Calendar this year will also provide something for you  ;D I sent something in which might be interesting. Unfortunately, it is in German. But there are solutions for this...

Thank you. I already had translated many articles in German, I don't have fear about this.

Remember to give scrolls as part of treasure. I always try to include 6-10 in every adventure. These can help build his repertoire of spells. Give a firebeam wand as a treasure item and then he can have a different spell prepared and not have to waste a round spellchanging.   

Has his firebeam target breached 21 yet?  He will notice a nice boost in damage after that. Perhaps you can help him along with a +1 quarterstaff, etc.
